remus is on-line
Recently, the internet service "remus - Legal Questions of Multimedia and the Internet in Schools and Universities" went on-line: http://remus.jura.uni-sb.de/ . This service is a comprehensive information system regarding German legislation on the internet offered by the Saarland University Institute for Computers and Law (IFRI) in co-operation with the German Education Server (Deutscher Bildungsserver). In a first step, remus covers problems of copyright which arise when using multimedia facilities and the internet in institutions of education.
Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Maximilian Herberger, IFRI had already developed a prototype during a first project stage in 1998 and 1999. This prototype will now be extended to include various legal questions on the new media. The experts of the Institute of Computers & Law will complete remus by January 2002. The information platform is aimed at those responsible at institutions of education.
remus allows those interested to rapidly obtain and exchange up-to-date, efficient information on all questions concerning the new media. More specifically, remus covers
To make remus interactive users are invited to come up with requests and suggestions for topics.
These will be incorporated in the constant updating of remus.
